The project MOBILLI is a tele-operated robot that aims to provide users more freedom to move around in the remote place. It deploys smartphone as both microcontroller and video communication interface. When user A attaches a smartphone to MOBILLI, it activates the wireless connec-tion to the user B as well. User B can control the movement of MOBILLI in 5-axis through gestural instruction. By doing so, user B is able to not only transmit his/her appear-ance to user A, but also to arrange gestures of the MOBILLI.
MOBILLI is not a humanoid robot. The lamp-like shape fits better to the background of home, office, or café. The sim-plicity of its form lets people to focus on the screen of phone, as well as the gestures and movement.
